Okay, the fingers on my right hand either hurt or are partially numb most of the time now, and I’m not even able to practice all that often… maybe once or twice a week outside of lessons with Dan. This is the left hand for most people, since most people play right-handed (strum with the right, chords with the left). Tonight I have made my right thumb partially numb from working so hard to hit the chords correctly.
Over the last couple of weeks, Dan and I have been working on learning an old Sanford-Townsend Band song called “Rainbows Colored in Blue”, which is a great jazzy blues song. It doesn’t use a normal blues progression, or chords. The chords are more often used in jazz music, and they are difficult for someone at my stage of learning! I’m giving it a good go, but it’s definitely difficult, and my right hand is definitely feeling the burn!
All that aside, this sure has been fun!
